Arizona Licensed Architect
I’ve been around construction my whole life — since childhood, well before it became a career. That early start grew into more than forty years in architecture and construction, and I’ve never lost the conviction that the best buildings come from someone who understands both the drawing board and the job site.
I’ve been a licensed architect in the State of Arizona since 1990. Over the years my practice has covered the full arc of a project: design, land planning and zoning, feasibility studies and construction budgets, contract negotiations, construction management, and design-build. I’ve secured re-zoning for multi-use and single-use projects, overseen multiple architectural and construction projects at once, and negotiated contracts for every phase of construction. I’ve also developed, owned, and leased my own real estate — so I know what it means to be on the owner’s side of the table, too.
How I Work
I believe a design isn’t finished when it looks good — it’s finished when it gets built, on budget, and does what the owner needed it to do. Meeting the budget has always been part of the design itself, not an afterthought, and in the vast majority of my projects we’ve accomplished exactly that. Some of that work has been recognized for design excellence; all of it has been shaped by daily, hands-on involvement — the kind you can see in projects like Bischoff’s on the Park, a historic renovation in Old Town Scottsdale that took more than two years of daily site visits to get right.
What I’ve Built
My work spans nearly every project type and scale: professional buildings, corporate offices, medical, dental, and eye clinics, emergency medical facilities, industrial warehouses and manufacturing, retail, private clubs, restaurants, historic renovation, multi-family residential, and single-family and custom homes. Construction scopes have ranged from interior kitchen and bath remodels to new commercial buildings, with project costs from a few thousand dollars to several million.
Beyond the Practice
Architecture connects to community, and I’ve tried to serve both. Over the past twenty-five years I’ve served on and chaired various boards and committees, and I’ve been involved in — and led — multiple instances of citizen involvement in government affairs.
